As an experienced HR Director, I am very much a generalist with a strong employee relations and employment law/training background and have been consulting for over 20 years. My HR career started in the City within the legal sector, and I then spent several years working for a national firm of Chartered Accountants.
I consider myself to be someone who quickly builds strong, trusted and lasting relationships with clients, becoming very much part of their team; be that working alongside them on-site, on projects or providing support and guidance at arm’s length.
I have extensive experience working with multi-site operations and in helping businesses restructure/reorganise to manage their people in the most effective way. I create and deliver a variety of practical HR workshops for Line Managers and have recruited and often find myself acting as a mentor to in-house HR teams.
Having spent several years working at one of London’s biggest entertainment agencies, representing award winning Actors and Creatives, I decided to re-train in HR with a focus on the arts and entertainment sector and bring together a specific combination of experience and knowledge.
I am here to advocate for the intermediaries of our industry and provide support by implementing policy and procedure into an ever-changing sector. I’m most passionate about HR having a “presence” in this industry and believe in the benefits of HR support being hands-on and visible.
I am also one of the founders of The Grey Area Theatre Company; set up in 2020 to create work for theatre artists during the pandemic. Since then we have produced multiple Off-West End productions and been nominated for a WhatsOnStage Award.
